For more than a decade, Habitat Early Learning Centres have been expertly delivering Montessori Programs to children in the early childhood period. As society awakens to the limitations of traditional curriculum approaches, the possibility and potential of the Montessori approach is increasingly appreciated.
Peregian Springs is Habitat Early Learning’s first Montessori-exclusive service.

Transforming your understanding of child care centres, our new Peregian location takes cues from the contemporary coastal landscape, delivering an experience which nurtures learning through an environment that is relaxing, peaceful, welcoming, and safe.
From the moment you enter Habitat Early Learning Peregian Springs, there are touchpoints at every turn that evoke curiosity as a provocation for learning. Combining form with function, the Centre includes learning spaces that let your children explore, create and discover their own passions and interests.
Learning takes place within 5 family groupings: Nido, Infant Community, Children’s House, and two unique Montessori-inspired Kindergartens designed for children aged 3 and above. We strive to foster an environment of acceptance, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity, individuality, and the joy of embracing diversity in celebration.

Our Montessori Day Care, Sunshine Coast
Maria Montessori (1870–1952) was an extraordinary individual. One of the very first women to qualify as a medical doctor in Italy, while working with intellectually impaired children she gained the important insight that in order to learn, they required not medical treatment but rather an appropriate pedagogy. She later continued to develop her distinctive pedagogy, working with non-disabled children (Marshall, 2017).
Montessori argued that children pass through sensitive periods for learning and several stages of development, and that children’s self-construction can be fostered through engaging with self-directed activities in a specially prepared environment. The 'prepared environment’, refers to a classroom and a way of learning that is designed to support the child’s intellectual, physical, emotional and social development through active exploration, choice, independent learning, and play-based learning experiences.
Through balancing freedom of choice and responsibility within a nurturing environment, the development of the mind (intellectual), the body (physical) and the spirit (emotional/personality) is emphasised. Providing the absolute highest levels of education, experiences and care, the Montessori philosophy guides each child through their own learning journey.
Transitioning from unconscious to conscious learning processes, our Montessori curriculum touches on areas of learning that include Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Culture.

Peregian Springs Daycare
Happy Habits
Habitat Early Learning offers a Happy Habits Program to all children over two years of age. The program introduces all elements of wellness and movement, through mindfulness, physical activity including yoga, and nutrition and culinary lessons.
Performing Arts
Habitat Early Learning offers a professionally designed and delivered Performing Arts Program included within the fee structure. Focusing on musical practice and theory, dance and performance the Program is offered on a weekly schedule to all children.
Mandarin Language and Culture
Habitat Early Learning offers Mandarin and culture classes to children enrolled in Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten. The language program is implemented by a native Mandarin speaker who is experienced in teaching Mandarin to children and a qualified early childhood educator. The lessons are fun and interactive, incorporating pictures, role play, songs and games with learning reinforced by the children’s educator throughout the week.
